Nigeria Had Been Bleeding Heavily Under PDP Govt –APC Party Blames Pre-2015 Administration
The PDP had called on the ruling APC to review its policies and save Nigerians from the hardship in the economy.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that the country had been “bleeding heavily” since the governments led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prior to the 2015 general elections.
The ruling party said on Friday that the PDP “mismanaged the country” so much so that Nigerians were only beginning to understand what “change” meant.
The PDP had called on the ruling APC to review its policies and save Nigerians from the hardship in the economy.
The position was communicated by the party’s Board of Trustees meeting held on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
The PDP in a statement signed by Senator Adolphus Wubara had noted that it had thoroughly assessed the state of affairs of the nation and hereby expressed worry over the worsening economic hardship in the country.
However, the APC Director of Publicity, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim in an interview with Daily Trust asked the opposition to bury the thought of policy reversal by the government and support it in delivering on the “Renewed Hope” agenda of the President.
He said, “The country had been bleeding heavily under the leadership of the PDP; they mismanaged the country. So Nigerians are still watching and beginning to understand what change means.
“The APC as a ruling party is not intending to foist on the country anything that is going to injure democracy.
“The APC is a progressive party; it is a party that is out to bring changes that will bring about dividends of democracy to the people. Democracy is only vibrant when there is opposition, but let the opposition be constructive, not destructive.”
