FG increases retirees pension
The Federal Government has approved a pension increase of N32,000 for retirees, following a review of the national minimum wage structure.
This adjustment, announced by the National Salaries, Wages, and Income Commission, applies to those who retired under specific salary schemes, including health workers, doctors, lecturers, police, paramilitary, and armed forces personnel.
The affected retirees are from agencies covered under various consolidated salary structures in the public service.
Agencies outside these structures are required to apply for a pension review based on relevant legal provisions.
The adjustment is part of the wider effort to align pensions with the newly approved wage framework for federal civil servants.
It was registered in 2023 with a mission “to be the marketplace of ideas and the leading player in the industry by ‘putting the people first’, upholding the truth, maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards” while delivering value to its stakeholders.
