Two died, six injured in Oyo road crash
Two persons have lost their lives while six others are currently receiving treatment at Bowen University Teaching Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a lone accident at Oolo community, end of Oyo/Ogbomoso Road, on Friday.
Investigations by PUNCH Online, on Saturday, revealed that the accident involved a commercial Nissan car which reportedly ran into rocks placed as barricades by a construction company near Ipeba area.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the accident claimed “the lives of the driver and a female passenger whose identities are yet to make public as of press time.”
It was further gathered that “the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.”
When contacted, the state sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mary Alo, confirmed the accident to PUNCH Online in Ibadan, the state capital, on Saturday.
She said, “I am aware that there was a crash at Oolo. I received information in that regards. They ran into the rock, and two died and took six of them who were injured to the hospital for medical attention.”
