APC Govs Forum pay a Courtesy Visit to Buhari in Kaduna
All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, under the auspices of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his country home in Kaduna to pay him homage and to update him on how the party has been faring since he left office about two years ago.
Speaking to newsmen after a closed-door meeting with Buhari, the chairman of the forum, Hope Uzodinma, said their visit signified a show of unity and strength within the APC.
He also stated that they told the former president that the APC is growing stronger as the largest political party in Nigeria and would remain stable and resilient even ahead of the 2027 electioneering period.
He said, “After the Ramadan, Lent, and Eid-el-Fitr celebration, they deemed it necessary to pay homage to the former president who served eight years under the APC.”
The progressive governors described Buhari as a father to the APC in politics, saying they were pleased to meet him in good health and sound mind.
Uzodinma expressed their gratitude to Buhari for his leadership and credited him with producing a cohesive machinery that enabled the party to retain power.
He also highlighted the party’s growth in strength and capacity, attributing the success to its ability to hold consultations and prioritise national interest over individual ambitions.
The governors emphasised the importance of internal cohesion and strong leadership in achieving electoral success.
Speaking, the host governor, Uba Sani, described Buhari as a father, leader, and statesman, saying, “Not only politicians but ordinary citizens pay the former Nigerian leader (Buhari) homage.”
