President Bola Tinubu on Monday flagged off the contribution of access road to the Second Niger Bridge linking Delta/Anambra States Phase 2A contract.

The President, represented by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, described the access roads as critical for trade and commence.

He said, “It is my honour and privilege to stand in for the President in the flag off ceremony for the construction contribution of access road to the Second Niger Bridge.

“Today mark another milestone of the new hope agenda.Those roads are critical for trade and commence.

“The opening of second Niger Bridge in December, 2022 contributed immensely to free flow of traffic in the area, so the access road we are flagging off of today will reduce the traffic in the town”

Tinubu sought the support of the people in the state in delivery of new hope agenda.

In his remarks, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi stated that 17.5 km bypasses was to ensure free flow of traffic in the town.

“These two bypasses are to ensure that we did not temper with traffic in the town. We want to assured you that the stealing of irons in the second Niger Bridge will be a thing of the past because we have installing CCTV and connecting it to your office, so that you can know from your office what’s happening here.

“In respective of party, your are a very loyal to Me president and today, you are representing him.

“I have visited Warri and the gigantic three flayover. Your state is a construction site, you are not like other governors who said it’s federal road” he said

He said the compensation will be done by both the federal and state governments, disclosing that 30% of payment for the access road had already been approved and released by the federal government.
