Shettima returns to Abuja after Saudi, UAE trips
Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after performing the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia.
Shettima’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, revealed this in a statement he signed Friday night titled ‘Shettima Returns To Abuja After Umrah In Saudi Arabia’.
During his time at the holy site, the Vice President offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace and stability.
“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” VP Shettima prayed.
The Vice President’s supplications included prayers for Nigeria’s leadership, from the federal to local government levels.
Before his spiritual journey, Shettima represented President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315m oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited in Dubai, UAE.
Shettima has spent 61 days abroad, visiting 12 countries on 12 unique and recurrent trips.
He has also accumulated over 200 flight hours.
Shettima has so far visited Rome, Italy; St. Petersburg, Russia; Johannesburg, South Africa; Havana, Cuba; Beijing, China; Iowa and New York in the United States of America; Davos, Switzerland; Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast (twice), Nairobi, Kenya and Stockholm, Sweden.
