ODSG PRESENTS CHEQUES AND SUPPORT TO WINNERS OF ONDO STATE YOUTH RETREAT
The Ondo State Government has taken a significant step in empowering its youths by presenting cheques to the winners of the Youth Retreat OSYR24 Grant. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to reduce unemployment rates and promote entrepreneurship among young people in the state.
The winners, who participated in a business pitch, received the first tranche of their grants, marking the climax of the disbursement process. The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment ensured that all businesses were registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and that company bank accounts were opened for the winners.
During the incubation period, the youths were exposed to various entrepreneurship programs to garner experience, including the Nigerian Export Promotion Council and financial literacy training. The SSA commended the youths for their determination to overcome unemployment and achieve sustainability.

The presentation of cheques to the winners of the Youth Retreat OSYR24 Grant is a testament to the governor’s commitment youths in Ondo State. The SSA, Amb. Gbayisemore Orioye Benedict expressed his delight at the success of the program and the accelerated growth within the shortest period. “This is a dream come true for many of these young people,” he said. “We are committed to supporting them every step of the way, as they strive to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on our state.”
The beneficiaries of the grant were equally enthusiastic, expressing their gratitude to the governor and private sectors who supported the opportunity. “This grant will go a long way in helping us to establish and grow our businesses,” said one of the beneficiaries. “We are committed to making the most of this opportunity and contributing to the economic development of our state.”
The Youth Retreat OSYR24 Grant is part of the Ondo State Government’s broader efforts to promote youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. The government has established a range of initiatives and programs aimed at supporting young people in the state, including training and mentorship programs, business incubators, and access to finance schemes.
