Tragic News: Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja Passes Away.
Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, has sadly passed away at the age of 56. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced his demise in a statement released by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Today.
Lt. General Lagbaja’s remarkable military career spanned over three decades, beginning in 1987 when he enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Infantry Corps in 1992 and went on to hold significant roles, including platoon commander in the 93 Battalion and 72 Special Forces Battalion.
President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to Lt. General Lagbaja’s family, friends, and the Nigerian Armed Forces, honoring his legacy and lifelong commitment to the nation .
